greedy starlings

My housebound friend has been enjoying the bird pole we installed earlier this year but is getting really upset about the small flocks of starlings (family groups) which descend, eat everything and poo all over the garden - she is about to give up on feeding birds altogether which seems a shame - does anyone know of a starling-proof but small bird encouraging feeder or have other ideas?

I don't think it's that people don't like them Lincs............it's just that they eat everything

I have a gang of starlings visit me regually. They demolish all the food I put out, so I simply put up another feeder. The only ones I don't like are the seaguls. They strip everything bare before my little ones get a look in.
