| | | Where are the buzzards? They are usually wheeling around in the sky, but over the last couple of weeks I have been looking for them and not seen any.....is it possible there are fewer because there are fewer rabbits this spring due to myxi? Or are they busy sitting on nests right now.
So I wondered if this is a normal seasonal thing, a neighbour said the same that there didn't seem to be any buzzards, normally the crows are chasing them off.
I don't know if anything untoward could have happened to the local population. I am still waiting for peregrine falcon(thread a couple of weeks ago re dead peregrine)to have it's tissues tested at the WA lab for poisoning, the post mortem showed a healthy bird.
So don't want to jump to conclusions yet |

| | | Re: Where are the buzzards? Plenty here in Aberdeenshire. I regularly see them flying over the fields round my house, or frequently sitting on fence posts. They don't seem bothered by cars driving past so I get to see quite a few at close range. |

| | | Re: Where are the buzzards? Ha! Have just seen one being mobbed by crows! But first one for several weeks, maybe the sunshine brought it out. Usually there are a lot about, as you both say. |

| | | Re: Where are the buzzards? I certainly saw several in Oxfordshire last week. I see them often when I'm out walking, and I can't say I've noticed them being scarcer than usual. |
