| | | Essence of Swallow  Tried hard to take pics of Swallows flying around over one of my local pools - so fast aren't they?? However I was quite pleased as a beginner to get these shots which I think at least capture their essence.  Cheers

It is great fun trying to do this but you have to have a sense of humour.
I have never tried swallows like that. A couple of years back I was on a footpath with high hedges used by swallows for hawking flies. They would fly up and down the path. I did manage a couple of head on shots that I was very pleased with at the time.
Next up are house martins and swifts. The martins nest on several houses around ours, and ours, and shoot across the sky. I have several reasonable shots from last year, but will be out there again this year with a cricked neck, etc.
