| | | Re: First Swift I saw our first here on 3rd May last year, 2 days later than usual, but as I wasn't at home on the 1st & 2nd, they could have been here. So ours arrived as normal. |

I saw my first three swifts of the year on St.George's day here in Reading last year, a week earlier than normal, and after recently moving into this road (feb last year), I was overjoyed to say thatthe Swifts nested in our road and stayed for the er.... cough cough.... "summer".
I have a feeling those nesting later last year may have fared rather poorly with all the wet weather we had in the summer.
Lets hope for better weather this season, for my favourite bird of all.

| | | Re: First Swift we have a colony of swifts that nest in the local village and i check every morning on my way to work but no sign of them yet.i suppose the time they arrive here would depend on the food supply in south africa and if they can get enough before making the journey | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
