| | | Waiting for a wren Sounds almost suggestive, but it was the feathered variety.
I had a pretty unproductive walk on Saturday. I could hear wrens all around me calling to each other but they were impossible to spot.
I crossed over the river and heard a wren calling from from a small tree in front of me. I crept up; and off he flew, fortunately not very far. I followed and waited.
Suddenly, he popped up onto a post. In the following picture, I am not sure if he were reticent or subtly making his point
Off he went and I hung around and hoped. It was very windy and these two shots show him balanced somewhat precariously in the breeze
I can't stand like this and I am not sure that I want to
Finally, a sensible stance and one to celebrate
He then flew down to the bottom of a hedgerow and that was the last I saw of him or his ilk.

| | | Re: Waiting for a wren Cracking set of shots Colin - you lucky, lucky person .
I've heard them (we've got some in the hedgerow) at the front of our house, and I've caught a glimpse now and again, but as for photographing them? I should be so lucky !

| | | Re: Waiting for a wren Some lovely shots Colin. They aren't the most cooperative bird to photograph and you have caught him/her very well.

| | | Re: Waiting for a wren These are beautiful little birds, full of character and you've caught this one brilliantly. I love the final portrait shot but the ones with "legs akimbo" are great too and a bit different from any I've seen before.
Great stuff - thanks for posting them!

| | | Re: Waiting for a wren Super set of shots there Colin. I like wrens, they are often quite visually elusive but rarely audibly elusive! lol Very noisy little things and great to watch when they are bobbing about. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
