First swallow - Anyone else seen one yet?

We saw them there yesterday too, Duncan, but up high and flying into the wind. As it was blowing a hoolie at the time they were hanging nearly motionless for several seconds at a time and I managed a few (quite dreadful) in-flight photos. These are all pretty much 100% crops...

Dave, I'm seriously impressed with the photos, I know I haven't been able to manage anything more than a blur in the past.

I haven't seen any more after than one last week.

Just seen a swallow in our garden - we have telephone lines across it, and it is a favourite meeting place for the swallows. A real treat to see them back.

one lone swallow flew down our farm drive a week last Friday, have seen nothing else until this morning.
At 6-30am today, I walked back into the bedroom from the shower, and stood looking out the window and a Swallow did a fly past three times in a few minutes
I guessed it was one of regular holiday visitors.
She remained alone until 11am, making an occasional entrance into the stable where they nested last year, seemingly checking to see if her mate had arrived.
Then, while sitting alone on the telephone wire, looking proper fed up, suddenly there he was, straight up the drive as if following the road, he flew passed her and turned a yard or so further on, hovered while popping a morsal of some kind into her beak, and then they were off, back and forth into the stable, checking out last years nest, brilliant, really pleased to see them back.

A few hours later and I turned the cows out in the field for the first time this year, it was great to watch the Swallows skating a foot from the floor between the cows as they grazed, I dont care what the weather does now, finally I feel like Spring is here

Aww, that's a really touching description . Can assume from this that they pair for life?

I still haven't seen any more since last week's single bird.

Saw quite a few over the weekend, haven't really been looking them so nice to see, one of my fave birds, should be the symbol for Summer just like my namesake is for Winter..
