ID Please - possible Tree Pipit?

Took pics of this bird today. Didn't recognise what it is. Closest I can see to it in the book is a Tree Pipit - but I'm probably wrong!

Cheers

Tich

Looks more like a female Reed Bunting to me Tich, but I could be wrong. Think the bill is too stubby for any kind of Pipit

Thumbs up Re: ID Please - possible Tree Pipit?

Looks about right, but I'm not sure on the dark wing edges ... however, I'll sit on the fence till someone with more knowledge 'pips' in.

Re: ID Please - possible Tree Pipit?

Certainly looks like a female Reed Bunting to me!... dark patch under chin, short stubby bill and prominent cream stripe over eye

I've had a male visit my garden for the last 2 weeks now (a new one for me! ) but still waiting for him to bring his girlfriend lol!

Re: ID Please - possible Tree Pipit?

Thanks fellas - I can see now that it is a female Reed Bunting - it was the streaks on the breast that put me off - couldn't see those in the book pic. I am trying - very!
