| | | Osprey in salcey forest There has been a sighting of an Osprey at Salcey Forest today at approx 10:00.
Could this be an escapee..Do they keep them in captivity, as there are no fish in salcey.. |

I started a thread earlier this afternoon, as one has been spotted where I live on the south coast - it was spotted in the Lower Test Nature Reserve.
Lets hope it's going to be a good year for them!

As aeshna5 said, if there's no fish it probably won't hang about. Just wanted a bit of a rest I expect !

| | | Re: Osprey in salcey forest Kayleigh,
as aeshna5 says, it's probably just passsing through on its migration. In any case it's not too far from water - for instance, Linford Lakes are within 6-7 miles of Salcey forest. |

| | | Re: Osprey in salcey forest In the past few days there has been plenty of Ospreys heading north up the country according to a well known birders website. Keep your eyes peeled, they can turn up anywhere overhead.
