| | | Buzzard..? Iv know that there is some sort of large bird around my house. I think it is a Buzzard. Would buzzards live in the eves of a barn?
I now know there is a male and female as i just saw them mate! Take about spring in the air They are making a right noise!
Unfortunatly i dont have a good enough camera to get a picture of them.
Also i know that buzzards eat rabbits and the such from the ground. What are the chances they would aim for my cat? |

| | | Re: Buzzard..? Also these birds hover in mid air and dive down to get their prey. Some info on the net says they stay in trees and dive down from there....? |

| | | Re: Buzzard..? The hovering suggests kestrel, and a barn is not an unusual place for kestrels to nest. |

| | | Re: Buzzard..? Definitely sounds more like Kestrel than a Buzzard in which case your cat should be fine. never heard of a Kestrel or a Buzzard for that matter bothering a cat.

Just looked up RSPB website! It is a kestrel! It has the speckled front. Wow! Though it was a buzzard
