Spotted a single Red kite in Oundle nr Peterbourgh. While watching my son play rugby. Are Kites known in the area?

yes there have been several reintroduction schemes over the years including Rutland and Cambs.

Regards Colin | They certainly are Colin and in quite large numbers - an estimated 600 have spent the winter in the Rockingham Forest area, just about 5 miles north of Oundle and Red Kites are frequently seen in the surrounding areas

Hi Colin
The kites reintroducion project began in 1989, in the Chilterns and Scotand.
We now have approximately 350 breeding pairs in the Chilterns and have regularly provided chicks for reintroduction projects around the UK, the latest one being Aberdeen.
Other reintroduction sites include places such as Northants, Yorkshire, and the Derwent Valley near Gateshead in the North East.
