| | | bird watching abroad? Hello all,
I know this is about british birds but I would like to ask has anyone been bird watching in Hungary? If so what was your experience like. I know there are supposed to be many many species to see there.
Thanks

T | I've not been to Hungary Tracey but believe as you say there is a very good selection. I'm off to Bulgaria in May for eight days birding in the Southern mountain ranges, just me, a guide complete with wheels, and hopefully plenty of new species to find. Be sure to let us know how it goes. |

I will post a message and let you know how I got on in Hungary, I have heard some very good reports lately about bird watching there, especially in the North part of the country Bukk and Aggtelek....I'm getting excited about it already. |

| | | Re: bird watching abroad? Lake Balaton and Hortobagy are two good areas according to people I know who have lived/holiday-ed there.
You could try ther Fatbirder website and use the world map to locate Hungary. The page will give you all sorts of useful info including other peoples trip reports. Good luck.
Cheers,
