| | | Identify this bird call, please It'll be easy for you lot, I'm sure! http://aci-net.co.uk/bird.mp3
Beware - the file is about 300Kb.
The bird I want identified calls briefly at 7, 8, 13 and 19 seconds. Heard it quite often, but can't pick it from the RSPB site calls. Out watching barn owls at dusk over grassy fields (one of the pair seen tonight ), Cambridgeshire, calls coming (I think) from the trees at the edge.
I'll be very embarrassed if it's a sparrow.
Thanks! |

| | | Re: Identify this bird call, please I had dismissed the Little Owl based on the RSPB website clip, but parts of it are very similar. I'm tending towards an LO. Thanks for the opinions, everyone.
On another point, I've heard it maybe three times in a location that seems to be maybe 100m at most away from the Barn Owls' favourite roost. Do the two kind of owl co-exist happily? |

| | | Re: Identify this bird call, please Yeah, it's definitely a Little Owl. The Barn Owl Trust - Owl identification has a link to a call from a Little Owl which is spot on.
I'll be on the look-out for one of them too next time I'm out.
Thanks, everyone. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
