poor picture i know, the bird looked to have a yellow tint to it,? it was in a hedge next to an open field, if that helps, i know how good you all are, its over to you

Its a yellow hammer. They are one of the most obliging birds for the photographer and not at all quick to disappear as you approach. Your picture is a typical hedge row sight where I live.

I would say yellow hammer. I quite often see yellow hammers at MNR along side the Manchester ship canal.
