| | Catch of the day Hi folks Iv'e just put my photos from Stodmarsh in my pc files and thought I'd put this one up for you to see, it's a bit blurred , I was at full range with the zoom but managed to put it on a 2 sec timer,
In retrospect , I think I got the wrong camera, this one is a Fuji 5700,It takes great macro shots and mid range but not too hot on distance,
I should have saved my pennies,
Have a look at GLSammys in the Gallery.

Duncan, | Dont be disheartened. The photos not bad
You would have had to spend 2 or 3 times as much to get a reasonably better photo. I often have thougths along these lines - I bought by FZ7 a year ago for just under £200 and the fz8 (only 1mp more) is still the same price. Fuji do have a nice new 20x optical with 10mp sensor out and the FZ18 has 18x optical and 8mps but there both £250-300
I love it at Stodmarsh. Cant wait till all the hobbys and swifts arrive along with the other spring migrants, and for the damsels and dragonflys to emerge |

Gerry | If you think that's ambitious take a look in the current issue of Birdwatch magazine which has some superb images of a drake Goosander swallowing a Pike nearly as big as him. Apparently he caught it + left it on some ice to die (or almost) + then returned later to swallow this enormous meal. Cracking photos! |

| | | Re: Catch of the day My pics are even worse! The Grebe was miles away and well beyond the limits of my zoom. I had to upload them as heavily cropped as they are just because it made me laugh to see this post. I was equally shocked by how big the fishes that they were trying to swallow were. This was one I saw today too!
Good effort by the Grebes!! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
