Little grebe (the smaller friend of your great crested) othewise known as a
'Dabchick'....which then gives your 'Dabchick chicks'

Nice pic of the Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) plenty of detail in the image well done

As you now know its a little Grebe, I tried to sculpt one carrying its chick, now I think on I might have another go, thank you for the reminder of this entertaining little bird.

I'm not sure Little Grebe carries its chicks, unlike Great Crested, Red and Black-necked, but good luck with the photos anyway.
Oops! Wrong again! have just found a photo of LG with chick on back so it looks like they all do it.
