No, they don't have white wing-bar for starters. It's a Black-tailed Godwit. |

Definately a black tailed godwit. Greenshanks also have slightly curved beaks.  - a good sighting none the less! |

looking at my book i would say its a black tailed godwit the bird in the picture does not have awhite band on the wing feathers |

That one is definitely Black-tailed Godwit.
This one, however (also one of yours Dai, I notice)  is a Greenshank

At first look I was with Dia on this thought it was a Redshank until I got the book out then compared them,and have to concede defeat that it is a Black-Tailed Godwit(Limosa limosa) nice pic by the way
