| | | Some garden birds in the snow I awoke to a little snow this morning, and then it came on more heavily. I had filled the feeders last evening and the usual visitors soon dropped in. I snapped away happily through the french window still in my dressing gown and a lot warmer than the birds outside.
I had taken quite a view unremarkable shots when I caught a glimpse of what I think is a male blackcap bobbing up and down on a slender branch in the dark under the archway. If so, this is a first for me in our garden
I see that John has just posted some blackcap pictures that are far superior to these - but, for me, these are record keepers
You have to admire the agility and adaptability of the starling and the nerve of the goldfinch
You know how rumours spread. As a schoolboy I was told about a First World War I rumour: 'The Russians have landed in Scotland - they have snow on their boots' even though any snow would have long since melted. Is this a Russian Chaffinch?
A blackbird finally arrived and provided a striking contrast against the snow
Finally, these are not birds, but I thought that I would include them
It has stopped snowing and the sun is out - I might join it.
