I decided to have a bit of a lie in after my exertions yesterday and didn't get up until nearly 8am (extremely late for me). I pulled back the curtains and the ground was covered in snow.
Not only was it covered in snow but it was also covered in Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Collared Dove & Wood Pigeon. They were all joined by two Brambling (one a female which is a first for my garden).  
In the tree above them were two more male Brambling, at least ten Siskin (and I thought they had gone from my garden having not seen one for a couple of weeks) plus loads more of those seen on the ground plus the star bird for the morning, a female Blackcap. I have had a few males before but never a female.  
Now it is 9am and the garden has gone a little quiet but I bet they will all be back later if this snow is still on the ground.

You lucky devil John - sounds like a perfect start to a Sunday morning 
Like the fool that I am I was up just after 5am, round at our Kingfisher nestsite by 5.45 and then sat (in my hide) through a 3 hour snowstorm 
Some nice pics there by the way
