Chiff chaff

Hi all. I got really exited this morning, I was checking the bird feeders and admiring the sparrows and such like when a bird caught my eye jumping around the plant pots at first i thought it was a wren but it was way too fat for a wren and the tail was wrong. Any hoo as I'm pondering what it is it opened its beak. A chiff chaf, I have never had a chiff chaff in my garden before and I'm really chuffed. Fi. X X X X

Not a common bird to get in the garden but a great visitor for you

We spotted this bird ona budleia in next door's garden. The light was poor and, believe it or not, these are snaps of the same bird.

I would like to think that it is a chiffchaff rather than a willow warbler on the basis of the rounded head and dark legs - its probably something completely different.
