about the same size as a housesparrow ,maybe a bit bigger, and much the same markings except for a black head with a white collar and a white strip from the crown down to the top of it's beak

googled male reed bunting and thats the one thanks, never seen one in my garden before, it's very unsure about going the the feeders so hard to get a pic,
