Are these greylag geese or are they a domestic variety

They are Greylag. Though they are native birds, most in southern Britain are feral birds. Most domestic geese are derived from this species + was reputedly the first bird to be domesticated.

Thanks for the conformation.
Could they be owned by a farmer or are they wild? They were on farmland but seemed to have no restrictions and were able to fly. I did see at least 2 white ones in the flock. I would say the flock was of 30-40 birds.

As they were free flying, you can be sure they were as free as a bird, not belonging to any farmer!
