I was going to post a message to test everyone's ID skills but WAB is full of so many clever wildlife experts, I do not think these photos would have presented much of a challenge  .
Er, this one was clearly having a bad day .... 
.... and this one obviously has a stiff neck .... 
Here are some more conventional Grey Herons ....    
All photos were taken at Verulanium Park in St Albans, Hertfordshire where there is a heronry on an island in the middle of the main lake. This provides some excellent opportunities for photographing what can be a very wary bird.

They look so silly in a tree,only ever seen them on a fence in flight or on the ground after my fish. |

Very nice photos Richard and beautifully presented. How do manage to get such good photos when much of the backdrop is the sky? Mine tend to turn out much darker against a sky backdrop. What camera settings did you use?

Im a nature lover on a website called wild about BRITAIN!
Goldfish are not native british nature or wildlife! same reason im not a fan of budgies and cockatiels !
