The cracking smails thing is more of a song thrush thing, and song thrushes in my experiance tend to be in gardens more than mistles the latter seeming to prefer larger open areas, playing fields or pasture that kind of thing. |

| | | Re: New seed result Me too agree. I have on rare occasions had very tentative song thrush near low bird tables but never a mistle thrush. also believe snails not part of a mistle thrushes diet ?

| | | Re: New seed result Where did you get the seeds from..
I herd chirping coming from a robin nest box and want to give them something, but not live meal worms as they are expensive and the starling eat them all..
This sounds just right.. |

| | | Re: New seed result Ok it's obviously a songthrush now that i've looked at the picture but the one where it was on the feeder was too poor to bother with but i promise weather permitting if it makes an appearance i'll improve on it

| | | Re: New seed result I have a pair of Mallard that visit the garden several times a day and I always put out bread for them.
I bought a bag af duck feed from the local pet shop the other day and put that out - the ducks never ate it, just walked past it and I had to throw out some bread for them.
It wasn't a waste though, the magpies, crows and even Robins and Blue Tits cleaned up the duck food. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
