| | Woodpigeons When I walk to work I see a group of woodpigeons on small area of grass and I have counted about 40 of them there at any one time. I was wondering what are they eating, they are always there and i see them in my garden just pecking at the grass? |

| | | Re: Woodpigeons Well I didn't know the answer to your question, but according to the RSPB Website, it says
"Crops like cabbages, sprouts, peas and grain. Also buds, shoots, seeds, nuts and berries."
Hope this helps |

Jonathan | Yes, they enjoy weed seeds of most sorts. Just how much of this 'area of grass' is actually grass?!! |

| | | Re: Woodpigeons They also like young fresh shoots of cereal crops which are just comming through, like you Jamie , i saw a flock of about 30 in a field of corn, even although the farmer put out a load of sticks with streamers attached to keep them off,

| | | Re: Woodpigeons I often wondered that as I have noticed just recently many wood pigeons in our field. I love the way they waddle about, so slow and laid back.
We have chickweed and clover in the field so perhaps they are doing some pinching out for us. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
