Can someone please confirm that this is a female blackcap. If it is I'll be really chuffed because not only is is one of first photos I've taken with my new F18 but it's be the first time I've noticed a blackcap in my garden

Wow lucky you! it's one of the very long list of birds I have yet to see, though apparently a few have overwintered near here.

Yes, it is. Isn't she lovely? I have a pair that overwinter here, and they are such graceful little birds.
