| | A few days of Birds of Prey! First off, on Sunday, had a male Sparrowhawk scoffing a sparrow in my back garden - watched it through the bins for a few minutes, and then fetched the camera; only it didn't appreciate the back door being opened so flew away - with the sparrow (we've got a fir tree with about 30-40 sparrows at the bottom of the garden!).
And then yesterday, the work tawny owl finally showed up on a day when I had my camera, and got this:
Not the greatest pic in the world - it's at ISO400, 300mm (ish) zoom, and a speed of 100....so not too bad considering that!
Most impressive few days... |

Most impressive few days... | Nice pic. You're very lucky to see one.

Vince | I was at work the other night when the earthquake struck. Went outside the College to check for damage and the birds were terrified! Two blackbirds flew down at my feet (they are almost tame as they are used to me patrolling) and you could see they were completely disorientated and scared) pigeons were fluttering in panic and lo and behold, a few feet above my head came a tawny owl! A beautiful bird! Never see any birds of prey in the day though so you're very lucky!
