| | | Ospreys chicks hatch in Wales ( Glaslyn ) Heads up for those of you that wern't aware BBC report with links to the live webcam there
An Extract: A third osprey chick has hatched from a nest in north Wales.
Watched by "cheering and clapping" bird enthusiasts, the chick emerged on Monday joining its older relations, which hatched on Thursday and Saturday. |

It's certainly great new about the Ospreys though

| | | Re: Ospreys chicks hatch in Wales ( Glaslyn ) I visited Glaslyn last year to see the Welsh Ospreys but missed out this year on my annual visit to Wales as the weather was so appalling!
It really is excellent news that Ospreys are hopefully establishing themselves in Wales and in England at Rutland Water and in the Lake District .
They also seem to be reported more and more frequently as a passage migrant so maybe a few more will start to think that Scotland is a long way to go (it is but worth it!), pause on their journey north, stay, breed and return the next year .
Yet another bird of prey success story to follow the well documented Red Kite and last week's news regarding the Marsh Harrier .

| | | Re: Ospreys chicks hatch in Wales ( Glaslyn ) This pair of Osprey are a very sore point for me....
I spent two years conducting various surveys around 2km from this pair including a full breeding bird survey and never saw them, didn't even know they were there until my last week when someone told me, yes indeed my LAST week on site and I couldn't get to see them as I wasn't driving and was working with a non ornithologist who was in a rush to get home....
Rubbish!
