| | | Stock Dove?
When I took this photo I assumed the bird (about 100ft away at the bottom of a neighbour's garden) was a Wood Pigeon. But looking at the photo, it doesn't seem to have a white patch on its neck and there are possibly black bars on the wing, so is it a Stock Dove? |

| | | Re: Stock Dove? Thanks everyone for your replies. I was fairly sure it was a Stock Dove, nice to have it confirmed. I saw another one on Wednesday, as I was walking through Hambleden in Buckinghamshire. I haven't seen them very often before (like a lot of people, I've probably misidentified them as Wood Pigeons a few times!).
It's another bird to be added to the 'seen from the garden' list! |

| | | Re: Stock Dove? They just seem quite unobtrusive in their ways. About three years ago, I discovered a few around the village were I live (first time I'd seen them here), yet I have a funny feeling that they have been here for years, but hadn't announced themselves at all.
Alternatively, I could just be a very poor birdwatcher!
