| | | Re: nestboxes haha nooo! i want to put them in the wood. they're homemade and look better for it. they're easy and fun to make and i cant seem to stop making them just now. i just wondered if someone terribly clever had some ideas for me regarding putting them up. i think they have to face north east? and i shouldn't nail them up but anything else would be good to hear.... particularly how to put them up without using a ladder as mine fell apart. |

| | | Re: nestboxes Hi
If you have a lot to put up (and yes I know it is a bird forum) you could put some about 3-4 feet up with the hole facing the trunk with a small gap of course and you may also get some mice using them and if not tits will still use them.
They have done this in a wood near me so might be worth a try...if you like mice that is
You could also try filling some of them up with wood chippings or something similar as again I am told that either marsh or is it willow tit any one or bothg of them will sometimes use a box if they can excavate it first.
Good luck
