| | | Re: Plastic waste We take the dog to Cornwall. We got to a beach that allows dogs on it, that beach is the cleanest out of all the beaches in St Ives..The other none dog beaches are full of fag ends, tampons and any other rubbish you could mention. Not all dog owners are scum..Maybe they are that used to picking up after their dog they take their rubbish home too.. |

Luckily I don't fish any open to all places, so I hardly see any litter on the bank, and if i see some then it is something dropped my accident. |

| | | Re: Plastic waste The beaches here in cornwall are cleaner now than 10-15 years ago due to the work carried out by Surfers against Sewage. In the beginning it was noted that surfers and swimmers were sharing the sea with raw sewage being pumped directly into the sea. Tampons, panty liners, condoms, and poo.
People were suffering with ear infections and sickness.
With the pressure put on the water board they now screen all waste that goes into the sea, and my local beach now flies a Blue Flag for water quality.
There is still more to do concerning waste from boats and fag butts but things are progressing well.
Our beach has a dog ban during the summer months which I am grateful as I know most people pick up after their dogs, but some still don't.
There is nothing worse than dog poo when making a sandcastle, or whilst barefoot. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
