Thousands of Starlings!!!!! Photo included

Hey everyone,

Yesterday when i was down at the River Severn waiting to see the Short Eared owl we heard what seemed to be hundreds of birds.
When we looked up we saw the biggest amount of Starlings i have ever seen

We was with some twitchers and they couldn't believe it either.
When they flew over the Severn Bridge they was the length of the Bridge.

They put on a brilliant show.
The light was really bad so i couldnt get a good photograph but here is one i got.

I think it's one of the great UK wildlife spectacles, sadly there seem to be fewer really big roosts than there used to be.

Agreed it is brilliant, yes i've heard that, such a shame as it's a brilliant sight.

This was my first time seeing one this large i have seen a few sights of starling groups over the cotswolds but never on this scale.

Thank you, i didn't think any of the photo's would come out but this one did (sort of). The VR on the lens helped.

I wish i could have been there. Unfortunately its something iv'e never witnessed. I believe starlings roost at leighton moss i have been meaning to go and see them for a while

Lovely sight! I've seen pictures of it on TV, but I'd really love to see it in real life.

I've seen a few of these over the years and they never cease to amaze me, I think it's called a 'murmering' of Starlings when they are in groups like this.
