Possible Marsh Tit?

Hi everyone



I'm half convinced that this is a Marsh Tit. Seems to have a shinier black head than Willow Tits I've got pics of before and seemed to be slimmer overall. No doubt I'm wrong - I usually am!!

I think you're right Tich it looks like a Marsh Tit. Willow Tits have pale wing panels and this bird doesn't seem to have that, well captured

Could easily be Marsh but then again it could be Willow. Sorry to be so indecisive but there isn't really enough detail for me to give a definite ID.

Notoriously difficult to tell apart unless you hear the song or call. I see Willow Tits on my local patch and hear them sing and call and there have been no Marsh Tits recorded on my local patch hence how I know they are Willow Tits.

Someone with more experience of them than I have may be able to give a definite ID but although I am leaning to Marsh can't be sure.

Yes, that's a definitely a Marsh Tit.

Marsh Tit. It lacks the 'bull-neck' of a Willow Tit as well.

Agree Marsh Tit- I had good views of one preening + just sitting in some low vegetation at Lynford Arboretum, Norfolk yesterday- a very obliging bird. Even called a few times for confirmation!
