I Can hear it... Just can't see it..

For a couple of months now I've the beautiful Wren.
I Havn't seen it ever but you can hear it as if it was just right outside your window.

What food do wrens like?
And what can i do to attract it...

Wrens eat insects and spiders, but will also eat seed and peanuts, they like to stay low down and near cover, so probably the best bet is to put a ground feeder near near shrubs/bushes

I caught one yesterday whilst out ringing, they have a powerful old song for something so small

We used to have a wren picking up mealworms from the shelf outside the dining room window - but that was several years ago. Try scattering finely grated mild cheddar cheese on the ground under a low growing shrub - I've sometimes seen them taking that. Like you though, I hear one far more often than I see one.

It is possible to buy food specially formulated for Wrens from most good bird seed stockist.
As others have said it may be best to put it at ground level as this is where they mainly feed or in low growing shrubs.

Best chance of seeing it is when it sings as they do tend to sit somewhere a bit higher up then
