| | | If you can't cut your lawn .... .... then get some geese . BBC NEWS | Scotland | Edinburgh, East and Fife | Geese solve climate change issue
Mind you, I have been to the Vane Farm reserve and area and there is a lot of grass plus a lot of geese to look after it!
".... although it would be helpful if they'd learn to walk up and down in straight lines" .... this reminds me of my father trying to cut the grass after a lunchtime drink .

| | | Re: If you can't cut your lawn .... On a much smaller scale Guinea-pigs do a fine job of cutting the grass. I never have to cut my small patch they do it for me! I have 8 and just move the runs around. Unlike rabbits they do not dig so they do not damage the lawn. They also fertilize it as they go! |

| | | Re: If you can't cut your lawn .... I like the idea of using geese to keep the grass down. We have a couple of goats - got them 10 years ago with the plan that they'd be organic lawnmowers. Wishful thinking! They much prefer eating their way through everything but the grass |

| | | Re: If you can't cut your lawn .... Funnily enough I was thinking of giving the lawn one of its winter cuts this morning, but perhaps I'll just nip up the road to the Ouse Washes and net a few Geese instead

| | | Re: If you can't cut your lawn .... When the children were smaller we had a guinea-pig, it certainly kept the grass short and was a prolific fertilising machine. Much easier to handle than geese.
