| | | Large sunflower hearts The sunflower hearts I bought from the RSPB a while back are so big they don't drop down to the lower ports on my feeders. I give the feeders a shake every morning to bring a few down but it's getting frustrating as I don't think the birds are able to get at them once they go below the middle ports. My latest purchase was from garden bird supplies and these too are big. Anyone else had this problem? Is it the time of year? |

Have to tap the two heart feeders several times a day if I'm about. Even got the wife and son into the habit of tapping them if they are passing by
One of my sunflower heart feeders is of the type where I can enlarge the hole so will be doing that. The other one unfortunately isn't

Even cheaper is go direct to mills, which I plan for my next stock-up.
Black shiny and smooth sunflower seeds, i.e. with husk on, will always run better than the huskless "hearts". But the hearts are accessible to more birds and seem several times as popular!! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
