| | | Mine get really cold this time of the year! Hi, anyone got any good idea's for keeping the feet warm in a hide this weather? After two hours of balancing on my collapsible stool and cuddling my tripod I've had enough and have to extricate myself from the hide which also becomes a problem as, due to the fact that they now feel as if they belong to someone else, the feet are not doing what the brain is telling them and I sometimes exit the hide much quicker than planned. My friend, at least I think he's my friend, suggested that I leave the car engine running and attach a pipe from the exhaust into the hide. (I'm still considering that one).
Any idea's would be (warmly) received.

Dave | firstly wear a good wooly hat, it sounds stupid but it works, water proof trousers over your trousers and failing that, ladies tights underneath too (no one will know ) This usually works for me even for four hours on a sea wall in December!
Oh and a flask of something warm and lovely and some nice sucky sweets |

| | | Re: Mine get really cold this time of the year! Hi Dave, i`m prone to suffering from cold feet too. The best solution i`ve found has been a pair of goretex army boot liners. With a thin pair of socks underneath, and the liners, I`ve not suffered cold feet at all since using them. For what they cost on the likes of Ebay theyre definitely worth considering.

The subsequent jumping around would certainly keep you warm, but at a cost of scaring off the birds.
I would certainly second Gill, she has some great suggestions, but if wearing ladies tights isn't glamorous enough for you then you could always wear stockings.
Edit: I am not joking - wearing hold ups is far more practical for a man than tights when you need to keep warm!
