| | | Bullying crows Hi everyone , we have been putting out food for a family of three crows, they love mashed potato , and other things that they take great care to dunk in a puddle right in front of our window. This is good but I am worried that last year it put some birds off nesting here. I like to wake early in the spring , I take my first coffee listening to the birds dawn chorus, last year they seemed to be just outside our garden , either that or I am going deaf. I blame the bully Crow!

| | | Re: Bullying crows Hi Bethany , thats a good idea, we both like our crows and in truth would miss them so something like that has to be done.
Anyway this old bird crow has to go make sunday dinner before the in laws arrive...it gets addictive sitting on here.
Cheers

| | | Re: Bullying crows Crows visit my bird table daily but generally seem to get along with the smaller birds. They may actually be an advantage as they chase away magpies, jays and any of the hawk varieties. I make my bird tables as double deckers, crows, gulls, etc on top and robins, tits, etc underneath. These crows all have a tiny patch of white somewhere on their wings or chest and one bird always dunks his food in the birdbath. |
