| | | Woodpeckers and windows About this time last year a woodpecker hit our bedroom window and fell to the floor. Despite my efforts the poor thing died. I was very upset at the time but after a few days two more woodpeckers were on the bird nuts. I thought that they were looking through the house in the window so I put the net curtain up. Lo and behold on Friday it happened again bird hit window and then died! Again there are still two birds on the nut feeder and the net curtain is still up. Apart from leaving the curtains shut all day (not helpful for our two lazy indoor cats who love sunning it up on our bed, any ideas or will this become an annual depressing occurance? |

| | | Re: Woodpeckers and windows Hi Lyndy Loo,
Here in Germany bird silhouettes are used on almost every building with lots of glass. I've worked in a mainly glass office building for 5 years and have never seen a bird hit the window. http://eartheasy.com/hawk_silhouette.htm
I saw the above to buy but I'm pretty sure you could make your own.

RSPB also sell them not sure of how much they cost but wouldn't think a lot.
