| | | Blue tits Iv'e had two Blue tits investigating both the Blue tit boxes for the past couple of days, actually going in and after about a minute out again, Has anybody seen this in their gardens,

Duncan | Absolutely Duncan. Our Blue Tits seem to be competing with a pair of Great Tits for our box - setting up a territory or staking their claim already.
Good stuff!
Roll on march when I hope they start nesting proper.

Doves and pigeons may be getting fruity, and the odd goose (in the early nesting thread), but as for Blue Tits - at THIS time it'll only be to stake territories out, for inspections of suitable places to nest come the spring, for roosting purposes and for searching for food...

| | | Re: Blue tits I'm going to get a droll yankee live food feeder this year , the blue tits suffered badly in 07' with a lack of grubs so i'll help out this year with meal worms , I take the peanuts down too and dont put them up again till July.
