| | | A Buzzard in my Garden One morning, maybe the 3rd day of 2008,i was in the kitchen just waiting for the kettle to boil. All of a sudden i saw something big out the corner of my eye.I rushed to the window, and a buzzard was perched on my fence.I rushed upstairs to get my camera, but typically, hed gone.Ive seen many buzzards perched before,so i know it was abuzzard, but never expected to see one on the garden fence.I live on a council estate and, would have thougt it would be an obvious place to land.I have since seen a buzzard, pretty close to the garden though, and took a photo, but its pretty awful really,i also got a short video clip.I feel really lucky to have seen one so close. |

| | | Re: I couldnt believe it We have a couple who fly past the house but have never landed. Possibly interested in the wood pigeons that eat at our feeders. Buzzards, which were rare in our area, are increasing rapidly in number and are now very common in my area. |

| | | Re: I couldnt believe it We had one swooping around the top of my 14ft+ berberis. That's where the sparrows live. I doubt it was after sparrows though. I didn't get a photo either. |

| | | Re: A Buzzard in my Garden These birds are becoming more common, two or three years ago I used to
lay on the lawn and watch them circle very high up so far this year we have seen two, one in the back lane 150yds.away and one trying to get its balance on a hawthorn hedge on the local school field
It is marvellous to see such huge birds at close quarters Pepper

| | | Re: A Buzzard in my Garden What a great bird to have in the garden
They're still relatively uncommon in our part of East Anglia but last summer I did spot one from the garden soaring high above the golf course nearby so I'm hopeful we'll see more as their range continues to expand.
