Do I need to line my nestboxes?

Hi all,

Just occured to my as I put up a couple of boxes some weeks ago that I didn't consider If I should have put something in them? I've seen mention of wood shavings previously.

Do I need to revisit my boxes and spruce them up a bit, or are they ok as they are...basically bare.

I have only seen a small amount of interest in my tit box - the other is a wren box.

You just need to empty them and make sure they are reasonably clean if they have been used for roosting. This should be done now if poss.
