| | | Re: The weight of a 5 pence piece!!! Hi,
I'd say it was triclor... um can't even say it let alone spell it, the growth in the throat so they can't eat, very very infectious, if someone can spell it for you, or hopefully point you at the right thread, there's not much you can do apart from disinfect your feeders and not use them for at least a fortnight.
Read up on it.
Max.

No there is absolutely nothing wrong with this bird
I go out with a ringing instructor and he showed me a technique that the
americans use to photo the birds. ( he would normally allow me to photo birds holding them like this, but as I said he was just showing me.)
All he did was to place the bird on its back in his hand, the bird will just lie there, and then just gently roll it over.
The bird sits for about 20 secs and then hes off, I can assure you that this bird flew off perfectly healthy.
John
Max I can assure you that this bird has no growths it is purely fluffed up feathers all birds he catches are checked over weighed and measured very carefully,

I would never post a pic of a sick or suffering bird and say "how great is this little guy"

| | Re: The weight of a 5 pence piece!!! Its a little beauty, A couple of years ago my wife and I were lucky to see a pair of them flying about 5 yards in front of us gathering bits of Old Mans Beard off the hedge within a wood, in a local nature reserve, didn't have the camera out at the time,
Lovely photo JCD.
