| | | Re: Redwings They can be quite nomadic- so there one day + gone the next sometimes, yet others will stay around all winter but none there the following year. Today just one in my local park which I picked up on call. |

| | | Re: Redwings I am not very good at bird ID but I am getting better with the help of WABers. I have been seeing these birds for about two weeks now and there seems to be a few of them. I will try and get some photos over the next few days to make sure my ID is correct. I havn't been taking much notice of them but I certainly will now.

| | | Re: Redwings Gosh, I saw loads of these on Tuesday. Two large flocks feeding in fields; a lovely sight. |

| | | Re: Redwings I've seen several Redwings on my walks in the country recently, but only in ones or twos or very small groups, no large flocks. Saw a reasonable sized group of Fieldfare yesterday, but have yet to see a mixed flock of Redwing and Fieldfare this winter. Aeshna5 is right (as always!) about the eye-stripe - it's the red patch on the flank that I associate with Redwings, but I've noticed that it's the eye-stripe that usually first helps me to identify them. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
