Smile Bird ID's for fun

Just thought I'd load a few more for ID, have fun.

1.

2.

3.

4.

All taken in Oxfordshire.
The 4th one is tricky, not what it may seem.

Re: Bird ID's for fun

1 Baltimore Oriole- remember seeing this bird in Oxon
2 Chaffinch
3 Dartford Warbler
4 Resembles Lesser Scaup but not right; must be an Aythya hybrid-poss. Scaup x Tufted Duck?

Re: Bird ID's for fun

Heres the answers.

The first bird is a Baltimore Oriole that turned up in Oxford a couple of years back.

The second is a Two-barred Crossbill in Cowleaze Wood.

The third is a Dartford Warbler on Otmoor.

The fourth is an Aythya hybrid at Farmoor res. First thought to be a Lesser Scaup but did not quite fit. For one point it showed a green sheen to the head and not purple.

Well done.

Cheers.

Paul
