Richard | I saw a buzzard yesterday, flying high over Gravesend in Kent, just half a mile from the town centre, not sure what their territory boundaries are, but I assume they would fly over the River Thames & venture into Essex. |

| | | Re: Buzzards in East Kent??, I've regularly seen Buzzards whilst walking across Worth Marshes (towards Fowlmead), migrant movements will increase sightings - Sandwich Bay Bird Obs. recorded 15 Buzzards, 2 Red kites and several Peregrines flying over on the 23rd of this month.. |

| | | Re: Buzzards in East Kent??, Good numbers on Sheppey. Set your scopes up at the Oare Marsh Reserve and train it on Mocketts Hill over the Swale. Not only Common Buzzards, but Rough Legged as well. And Marsh and Hen Harriers. They circle in the thermals coming up off the hill.
Cheers,
Bryan

| | | Re: Buzzards in East Kent??, I think buzzards are pretty common around most of England including Kent.
I am no expert & don't know anything about any records or surveys & if numbers have increased over the last 20 years.
I have noticed that I am seeing more buzzards around the Meopham/Cobham area, but I put that down to spending more time in that sort of habitat.
I know from friends that there have been several resident birds in the Shoreham / Eynsford area for many years, probably well over 20 years. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
