| | Are Blue Tits Bats Today I examined a dozen bat boxes set up along the edge of a wood,
all bar one had blue tit nests in them.Some of the nests were the full internal height of the box (some 10"or 26cm),consisting of moss and sheeps wool
the box has two enterances a slit in the front, and a slit in the baseso how on earth did the tits get in and out?one however contained a rightful occupier a Pipistrelle.Pictures when I can remember how to upload them |

| | | Well, it has been known for Blue Tits to nest in a bat box and imprison themselves (with fatal results) by trampling the nest material enough to seal the entrance slit. But may be you should put up some tit boxes for the bats!
Also, Blue Tit nest in bottom of box, bat in top corner, has been recorded. It's not quite clear from your message if that's what you found.
