| | | Night birds We hear birds screeching about 3am each morning. We know there are owls around but wonder what bird the screeching one could be. Sounds like it's hunting.
We are very excited as starting seeing a Goldfinch in the garden since we introduced niger seed.
Many thanks |

| | | Re: Night birds Depends how you describe the sceeching. Both Barn and Tawny Owls are very vocal. I here Tawny Owl most nights. Barn Owls are renowned for sceeching.

| | | Re: Night birds May not be birds at all, foxes, rabbits and other all make very strange noises that are amplified at night. I know as my house backs onto a river and wood and we hear some very strange sounds.
The most disturbing sounds are the local neds (chavs) on a Friday night who consume their weekly ration of that famous tonic wine called Buckfast and howl at the moon and each other and hang around a bridge just along from my house.

| | | Re: Night birds If there is farmland and scattered copse around could be barn owls they Screech often quite a strange sound. Although i agree Foxes can be vocal in that way. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
