Are these migratory birds?

During the early part of the summer, my garden was very busy with a large variety of birds. Among them were approximately 20 jackdaws and a good sized group of starlings. Now I know that starlings move around at different points in the season - not necessarily migrating as such although I'd love to know if 'my' starlings were amongst the ones Simon King was filming this week in Somerset. But what about the jackdaws? My bird feeding bill has reduced substantially in recent months when they departed almost overnight once the chicks had fledged. Where have they gone?

I am delighted to see my yellow wagtail has returned and flits around on the water lily leaves on my pond drinking water as it goes. Where has he been since last spring?

Re: Are these migratory birds?

I do have certain birds that only appear in my garden when it's either very cold or when they have chicks such as great tits and wrens and starlings.

Re: Are these migratory birds?

I would think your Jackdaws are out feeding in the fields at the moment, they are not by nature migratory in the UK.
Is your Yellow Wagtail actually a Grey Wagtail as the Yellows are migratory and have all moved off by now.
