| | | Re: egyptian goose What do you think of Dorney Alan?
I visited it briefly for the first time recently and was quite impressed. In a short space of time I saw kestrel, snipe, fieldfares, pipits, many finches, green woodpeckers, as well as lots of ducks and grebes on the water. Didn't see the egyptian geese though.
Do you know what else can be seen there? I think it is certainly worth another visit when I have more time. |

| | | Re: egyptian goose i think dorney is a good place for bird watching if you go early (before the dog walkers and joggers).
i often see buzzards, lots of green and gs woodpeckers, finches, stonechats, warblers, buntings as well as all sorts of ducks and grebes.
over the last week or so there has been up to 450 golden plover seen there although i only saw 5 today.
the egyptian geese are the first i have seen and only about 30 ft from the bird hide.
