Waxwing in Nottinghamshire.

A Waxwing has been sighted at Brierley Forest, Nottinghamshire only a couple of days ago. This is a site local to me, I think another visit there is called for. Not that I stand much chance, you never know though I might get lucky.

Re: Waxwing in Nottinghamshire.

I've been thinking of going over there anyway. You never know, a few dozen more of its mates may have arrived by now!

It's a good site for Yellowhammers, Bullfinches, Redpoll, Siskin etc.etc., so well worth going.

Re: Waxwing in Nottinghamshire.

They are also in Norfolk, Cambridge, and London just not in large numbers at the moment.

Cheers,

Adam

You might like to know, mrs f., that the best place in Ipswich to find waxwings, apparently, is outside Tesco at the Copdock interchange. They feed on the Cotoneasters in the car park.

Re: Waxwing in Nottinghamshire.

I did think about hanging around car parks

I shall keep my eye out locally, I saw them on the park before eating rowan berries. From a distance I thought what are those starlings doing in that tree and when I got closer I realised what they were
